Clearly this is a much earlier story for our artist. The heroine is one of those super-nice girls people like to take advantage of. *sigh* However, the plot (and the hero) more than make up for it!
If you want to read it, Shoujo Magic scanlated the first volumes. Happily, Aerandria is continuing the series.

This was one of my favourite chapters in Kindan, and the entire series was just so beautiful and tragic in the most romantic of ways... (fangirly sigh) Oh how I wish I had the skill to do fanfiction of the story and do the original manga the justice it deserves...
