In many ways, comics, that is, sequential art, resembles the art of film making. Every comic has it's own art design and "directing" style, right down to how the characters think and act. The art of comics has been closely linked to realms such as storyboarding and graphic design. Though the common lingo includes the term "novel" (as in graphic novel), the typical novelistic fashion of writing must be adapted for comics much in the same way it is reshaped for a screenplay. Everything I ever learned about writing Fiction DIDN'T come from school; not even college. In fact, the way one writes fiction is almost the complete opposite of everything I learned in school about writing.

In order to make my stories crystal clear in my readers' imaginations, I write in precise Chronological Order, in the order events actually happen, PLUS in the order that the eye sees it.

A plot is the pattern a story follows, the most common being:

All successful (read: popular) stories have patterns. Sometimes it's simple, sometimes it's complex, but all of the stories read or told often enough to remain in the popular mind of any culture have a pattern, a plot.

When I craft a villain, I go out of my way to make darned sure that my fictional villains are as realistic as the villains we face in real life. I begin by giving them ordinary human Issues.

Within every villain (fictional and non-fictional) there's a human issue at core that drives them to BE villains in the first place. Even mass murderers have reasons (however twisted) for doing what they do.

Beyond that, he's a pretty normal guy -- for a vampire in the 1930s.

Awesome story! It was a blast to go through and had some hilarious dialogue in some parts. Bela is the best "traditional" vampire character I have some across in a long time, and his family was fantastic!

On my first reading, I ended up with the "happily ever after" ending.

You do these story-games so well, and I eagerly anticipate your next one! *cough* No pressure or anything.

I think my absolute favorite "scene" from the entire visual novel is the close-up on Bela's face with one eyebrow raised. It made me laugh no matter what was going on in the story at the time.
